The Lam Trio (Jeff Stonehouse, Diana Lam, flutes and Matthew Walton, piano) present Flutes on Fire!, a program showcasing various repertoire for flute.  Spanning from the Baroque to the contemporary, Flutes on Fire! includes a variety of pieces by composers such as Bach, Shostakovich, Jolivet and Ian Clarke.  Flutes on Fire! is also proud to present the world premiere of Canadian composer Christopher Thornborrow, commissioned by The Lam Trio.

Le Trio Lam (Jeffrey Stonehouse et Diana Lam, flute et Matthew Walton, piano) est mise en vedette dans ce concert de musique de l’époque baroque au présent.  Vous entenderiez dens oeuvres de Bach, Shostakovich, Jolivet et Ian Clarke et la création d’une oeuvre du compositeur Torontois, Chris Thornborrow.

“Autoportrait” – Ensemble Paramirabo upcoming concert

This coming Monday at the Café L’Artère, Productions Berrisque presents the Ensemble Paramirabo in their first concert as ensemble-in-residence.  The ensemble blurs their past with the present in a program exploring beginnings, representations and origins.  Works featured on the program include the ensemble’s namesake, Paramirabo by Claude Vivier, Graffiti Songs by Matthew Ricketts written for and premiered by the ensemble in May.  Other works include Moon Young Ha‘s Fairy Tale and Yannick Plamondon’s Autoportrait sur Times Square which explores aspects of American media representation.  The exciting guitar duo, Guitartare will open the concert at 7:30pm with a program of works by Montreal composers.

Ensemble Paramirabo welcomes François Gagné

L’Ensemble Paramaribo welcomes its newest member, François Gagné, clarinet!!!  The new core musicians of L’Ensemble Paramirabo are now:  Jeffrey Stonehouse, flute; François Gagné, clarinet; Aysel Taghi-Zada, violin; Viviana Gosselin, cello and Gabrielle Gingras, piano!  Please stay tuned for an exciting season with this ensemble!  Future projects include a concerto for saxophone and L’Ensemble Paramirabo and three concerts of music for flute, clarinet, violin, cello and piano!!

Ensemble Paramirabo and Vital Organs


This summer, l’Ensemble Paramirabo had the pleasure of collaborating with Vital Organs New Opera on Did I escape, I wonder…  a chamber opera in three movements featuring the amazing Sarah Albu, soprano and Clayton Kennedy, baritone with music by Sebastian Hutchings.  The performances were August 3rd – 6th, 2011 at the Théatre Ste-Catherine.
